I've been in a bit of a creative block lately working on book two. Sometimes, the best thing to do when that happens is to create fan art. I've been playing Assassin's Creed Unity, and unlike most people it seems, I'm actually thoroughly enjoying it. I've always been an Assassin's Creed fan but for some reason never created any art for it. So here's my latest piece. It took me FOREVER....I spent the better half of 3-4 days on it this week. I think that's the most time I've spent on a piece since my Gears of War contest entry. I'm a very impatient artist and tend to rush. If I can't get it done in one sitting, then I get bored with it. So I struggled with this piece in the beginning. After creating Elise, I thought I was never going to finish, but I did! And I like it for the most part. There are things about it that I don't like, but oh well! This was certainly a learning process. I used a pastel brush the entire time except to create the smoke effects, I used a smokey brush for that. It took some getting used to, but I like to switch things up every now and then. Anyway, hopefully now I can get back to work on my important projects.
